IT jobs accounted for a 2.36% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2021, registering an increase of 0.33% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 31.37% in June 2021, a 14.29% growth over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 27.45% in June 2021, marking a 17.65% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 17.65% in June 2021, a 25% drop from May 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 31.82% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s consumer industry during June 2021 over previous month.
Kimberly-Clark posted 11 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a an increase of 22.22% over the previous month, followed by BRF with 7 jobs and a 16.67% growth. Alpargatas with 5 IT jobs and FreudenbergKG with 4 jobs, recorded a 66.67% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Nestle recorded a 50% decline with 2 job postings during June 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s consumer industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 43.14% share in June 2021, a flat growth over May 2021. Argentina featured next with a 15.69% share, down 38.46% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded an 11.76% share, a growth of 100% compared with May 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.43%, up by 5.26% from May 2021. Entry Level positions with an 11.76% share, a growth of 50% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 9.8% share, down 16.67% over May 2021.
