The US’s food service industry registered a 13.8% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.23% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the food service industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 0.14% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s food service industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 94.51% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 57.93% in August 2021, registering a 53.23% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 10.98% share, a decrease of 21.74% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 9.15%, registering a 275% rise from July 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.54%, up 75% over the previous month.
Top five food service companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 68.49% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s food service industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
McDonald’s posted 45 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a rise of 125% over the previous month, followed by Starbucks with 34 jobs and a 25.93% growth. Compass Group with 19 IT jobs and Chick-fil-A with 16 jobs, recorded a 46.15% flat growth and a 77.78% flat growth, respectively, while Yum! Brands recorded an increase of 125% with 9 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.98%, up by 44.93% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 28.05% share, registered an increase of 58.62% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.76% share, up 6.67% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.22%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
