Privé Developers permit for luxury real estate project in Aventura, US

Privé Developers, led by Gary Cohen and BH3, secured a full vertical building permit for luxury condominium complex Privé at Island Estates in Aventura, Florida, US.

The permit has allowed the much litigated project to rise on the exclusive eight-acre private island located in Dumfoundling Bay, between Williams Island and Sunny Isles Beach.

The complex will comprise twin luxury towers and design and architecture, which will be provided by Sieger Suarez Architectural Partnership, with EGS2 responsible for landscape architecture, and Interiors by Steven G. Privé appointed for the interior designing.

Aurecon set up Eiffel Tower replica in Macau

Global engineering consultant Aurecon completed construction of a replica of Paris’s Eiffel Tower in Macau as part of an integrated resort project, The Parisian Macao.

The topping out ceremony for the project was held in the Chinese city last month, which is half the scale of the original 19th century tower in Paris.

Development for ‘The Parisian Macao’ is underway, which is being built by Sands China, a subsidiary of resorts giant Las Vegas Sands.

Stefano Boeri develop another vertical forest tower in Switzerland with BuroHappold

Italian firm Stefano Boeri Architetti and BuroHappold were chosen to develop the 117m-tall residential tower in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The building is to be known as the Tour de Cedres residential tower and was designed as a ‘vertical forest’ with terraces and loggias.

It will feature more than 100 cedar trees as part of 3,000m² of greenery, which will also comprise shrubs and plants.

Developers raised $2.23bn to build world’s tallest tower

Kingdom Holding, the company developing the world’s tallest tower, Jeddah Tower, said its unit Jeddah Economic Company raised SAR8.4bn ($2.23bn) from Saudi Arabia-based Alinma Investment for the project.

The money was raised through a fund called Alinma Jeddah Economic City Fund, and is aimed at the construction of the $1.2bn Jeddah Tower and the first phase development of the Jeddah Economic City project.

Expected to be completed in 2018, the Jeddah tower will comprise 252 floors, 26 of which have already been developed over an area of 85,000m².

Bristol City Council chose five possible developers for arena project

Bristol City Council, UK, shortlisted five contractors for the entertainment venue Bristol Arena development project, which is expected to cost more than £90m.

The selected developers taking part in the council’s tender process are: BAM Construction, Bouygues UK, Sir Robert McAlpine, Laing O’Rourke and Buckingham Group Contracting.

The firms are expected to submit their bids by 18 December, with the council announcing the winner in February 2016.

Al Futtaim Carillion won contract for next developmental phase of Dubai Trade Centre District

Dubai World Trade Centre awarded a £125m contract to Al Futtaim Carillion (AFC), a joint venture (JV) involving UK construction giant Carillion, for the 178,000m² next-phase development of Dubai Trade Centre District (DTCD).

Located between the existing Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre and Emirates Towers, the new developmental phase will involve construction of two high-specification office buildings of eight and 12 storeys for the business district.

Construction works for the phase were already initiated by the JV, and are expected to be completed by the third quarter of 2017.

Mace chosen to develop new stadium for Tottenham Hotspur football club in UK

British football club Tottenham Hotspur has picked Mace as their construction partner for their new stadium development.

The UK-based developer will be a member of the project team and be responsible for developing pre-construction plans and detailed construction programmes.

It will be co-ordinating with the club to secure specialist sub-contract tenders for the new stadium developments.

Skanska signed contract to revamp Czech railway station Ceská Lípa

Swedish construction giant Skanska signed a contract worth CZK1bn ($36.9m) with Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration SŽDC for revamping station Ceská Lípa in North Bohemia.

The contract will be a part of the firm’s local unit Skanska Czech Republic’s order bookings for the final quarter of the year.

The project will involve modernisation and reconstruction works at the railway station, which will lead to a new terminal building development, along with construction of a new underpass to the platforms and a new signalling system.
