Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 54.49% in October 2021, a 25.41% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 14.97% in October 2021, marking a 10.71% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 13.47% in October 2021, a 36.62% drop from September 2021.

Top five consumer companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 2.56% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry during October 2021 over previous month.
Panasonic posted 65 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 54.76% over the previous month, followed by Haier Group with 46 jobs and a 49.45% drop. Masan Group with 16 IT jobs and McCain Foods with 13 jobs, recorded a 14.29% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. recorded a 33.33% increase with 12 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 45.51% share in October 2021, a 5.56% increase over September 2021. China featured next with a 20.66% share, down 48.51% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 7.49% share, a drop of 44.44% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.78%, down by 29.3% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 30.24% share, registered a decline of 9.82% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.78% share, up 28.57% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.2%, recording a month-on-month decline of 20%.
