Asia-Pacific witnessed a 14.4% rise in IT hiring activity in the consumer industry in January 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
January 2022 has seen an increase of 2.47% in the overall hiring activity when compared with December 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 6.26% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in January 2022, registering an increase of 0.53% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in January 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 72.71% in January 2022, an 86.64% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 10.57% in January 2022, marking a 31.37% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 7.26% in January 2022, a 2.22% rise from December 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 6.47% in January 2022, a 13.89% rise over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 133.92% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry during January 2022 over previous month.
L’Oreal posted 244 IT jobs in January 2022 and registered an increase of 24300% over the previous month, followed by Haier Group with 87 jobs and a 4.82% growth. Panasonic with 39 IT jobs and Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 15 jobs, recorded a 40% drop and a 25% rise, respectively, while Reckitt Benckiser Group recorded a 50% increase with 15 job postings during January 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 42.11% share in January 2022, a 58.93% increase over December 2022. Philippines featured next with a 23.5% share, up 964.29% over the previous month. China recorded a 17.51% share, a growth of 9.9% compared with December 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in January 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 78.08%, up by 94.88% from December 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.3% share, registered a decline of 3.96% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.47% share, up 24.24% over December 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.16%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
