February 2022 has seen a decrease of 0.73% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 6.58% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering an increase of 0.84% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 59.76% in February 2022, a 30.93% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 13.08% in February 2022, marking a 35.42% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 11.67% in February 2022, a 38.1% rise from January 2022.

Top five consumer companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 61.38% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Haier Group posted 90 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered an increase of 3.45% over the previous month, followed by Panasonic with 59 jobs and a 43.9% growth. Masan Group with 30 IT jobs and Nestle with 30 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 900% rise, respectively, while Signify recorded a 78.57% increase with 25 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s consumer industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 49.5% share in February 2022, a 5.75% decrease over January 2022. China featured next with a 19.52% share, down 11.01% over the previous month. Australia recorded an 8.05% share, a growth of 17.65% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.42%, down by 25.81% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.33% share, registered a growth of 11% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.25% share, down 2.38% over January 2022.
