Australia’s construction industry registered a 19.8% rise in IT hiring activity in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.16% in February 2022 when compared with January 2022.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.17% share in February 2022, recording an increase of 0.71% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.99% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry in February 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 45.45% in February 2022, registering a 42.86% growth over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed an 18.69% share, an increase of 12.12% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 16.67%, registering a 57.14% rise from January 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 10.61%, up 5% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 20.51% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry during February 2022 over January 2022.
Monadelphous Group posted 36 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a drop of 35.71% over the previous month, followed by Komatsu with 22 jobs and a 46.67% growth. Reece with 13 IT jobs and The GPT Group with 12 jobs, recorded a 1200% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Downer EDI recorded an increase of 83.33% with 11 job postings during February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.69%, up by 18.26% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 16.67% share, registered an increase of 32% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 14.14% share, up 154.55% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.51%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
