The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 13.43% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.08% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 1.36% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 63.31% in March 2022, registering a 17.58% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 14.79% share, a decrease of 32.43% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.43%, registering a 38.24% decline from February 2022.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 5.33%, down 50% over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 84% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

The GPT Group posted 26 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 116.67% over the previous month, followed by Honeywell International with 19 jobs and a 280% growth. Downer EDI with 17 IT jobs and Komatsu with 17 jobs, recorded a 54.55% growth and a 22.73% decrease, respectively, while Americold Realty Trust recorded a flat growth with 13 job postings during March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 66.27%, down by 19.42% from February 2022. Entry Level positions with a 26.63% share, registered an increase of 32.35% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 7.1% share, down 58.62% over February 2022.
