US-based company Caterpillar’s IT hiring declined 8.5% in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 6.15% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
IT jobs claimed a 9.31% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2022, and recorded a 1.09% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Caterpillar IT hiring in September 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Caterpillar, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 41.38% in September 2022, and a 17.24% drop over August 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 18.97% in September 2022, and registered a decline of 52.17%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 15.52% in September 2022, a 5.26% drop from August 2022.
Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Caterpillar
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global construction IT hiring activity in September 2022 with a 51.72% share, which marked a 10.45% drop over the previous month.
North America stood next with 43.1%, registering an 18.03% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 3.45% share and a 33.33% rise over August 2022.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 1.72% and a month-on-month decline of 66.67%.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 38.79% share in September 2022, a 23.73% decline over August 2022. India featured next with a 32.76% share, down 25.49% over the previous month. China recorded a 15.52% share, an increase of 157.14% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Caterpillar IT hiring activity in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.17%, down by 18.99% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 35.34% share, a decline of 10.87% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 9.48% share, down 21.43% over August 2022.
