China’s construction industry registered a 25.9% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.68% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 1.9% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 0.53% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s construction industry in September 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 50.47% in September 2021, registering a 23.4% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 37.85% share, a decrease of 29.57% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 7.48%, registering a 33.33% decline from August 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 2.34%, down 16.67% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 26.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s construction industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
China Merchants Property Operation & Service posted 189 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a drop of 31.52% over the previous month, followed by Poly Development Holding Group with 7 jobs and a flat growth. Manulife US Real Estate Investment Trust with 5 IT jobs and Longfor Group Holdings with 4 jobs, recorded a 25% flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Shanghai Lingang Holdings recorded an increase of 100% with 2 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 87.38%, down by 25.2% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 10.75% share, registered a decline of 30.3% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 1.87% share, down 55.56% over August 2021.
