China’s construction industry registered a 4.0% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.18% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.37% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 0.19% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.75% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s construction industry in October 2022.
1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 46.25% in October 2022, registering a 12.12% growth over the previous month.
2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 41.25% share, an increase of 6.45% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 5%, registering a 55.56% decline from September 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 3.75%, down 80% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s construction industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
General Electric posted 10 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 400% over the previous month, followed by Caterpillar with 10 jobs and a 44.44% drop. ABB with 7 IT jobs and Burckhardt Compression with 7 jobs, recorded a 250% growth and a 16.67% growth, respectively, while Cummins recorded an increase of 50% with 6 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 80%, down by 27.27% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.75% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.25% share, up 25% over September 2022.
