China’s construction industry registered an 8.8% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 3.36% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.58% share in October 2021, recording a decrease of 0.25% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.61% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s construction industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 81.71% in October 2021, registering a 26.37% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 9.76% share, a decrease of 56.76% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 6.71%, registering a 22.22% rise from September 2021.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 1.83%, down 70% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 1.67% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s construction industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Honeywell International posted 62 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a drop of 36.08% over the previous month, followed by ABB with 20 jobs and a 1900% growth. General Electric with 18 IT jobs and Assa Abloy with 9 jobs, recorded a 12.5% growth and an 800% growth, respectively, while Caterpillar recorded an increase of 80% with 9 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.54%, down by 42.86% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 20.12% share, registered a decline of 23.26% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.46% share, up 17.39% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 4.88%, recording a month-on-month increase of 14.29%.
