China’s consumer industry registered a 14.9% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 17.85% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.74% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.49% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in China’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s consumer industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 82.61% in October 2021, registering a 45.19% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 8.7% share, a decrease of 66.67% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 4.35%, registering a 200% rise from September 2021.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 2.9%, down 75% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in China’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 35.16% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of China’s consumer industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Haier Group posted 43 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a drop of 51.14% over the previous month, followed by Lego with 7 jobs and a 250% growth. Puma with 3 IT jobs and Bose with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 200% growth, respectively, while McCain Foods recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 81.16%, down by 50.88% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.49% share, registered a decline of 37.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 2.9% share, down 50% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.45%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
