Europe witnessed a 4.3% drop in IT hiring activity in the construction industry in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
September 2021 has seen a decrease of 2.29% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.69% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering a decrease of 0.03% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 55.9% in September 2021, a 14.13% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 20.31% in September 2021, marking a 31.18% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.15% in September 2021, a 7.89% drop from August 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 5.9% in September 2021, a 12.82% decline over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 23.94% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s construction industry during September 2021 over previous month.
Vinci posted 57 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a decline of 6.56% over the previous month, followed by Titan Cement International with 34 jobs and a flat growth. SNC-Lavalin Group with 29 IT jobs and AF Poyry with 28 jobs, recorded a 93.33% rise and an 180% rise, respectively, while Arup Group recorded a 27.27% increase with 28 job postings during September 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s construction industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 34.55% share in September 2021, a 0.51% increase over August 2021. Germany featured next with a 14.41% share, down 19.42% over the previous month. France recorded a 12.33% share, a drop of 51.03% compared with August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.49%, down by 21.01% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.24% share, registered a decline of 2.38% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.72% share, down 21.78% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.56%, recording a month-on-month growth of 28.57%.
