Europe witnessed a 1.0% drop in IT hiring activity in the consumer industry in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
October 2021 has seen a decrease of 0.89% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.7% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering a decrease of 0.08% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 56.73% in October 2021, a 10.73% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 22.72% in October 2021, marking a 1.26% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 11.14% in October 2021, a 21.43% drop from September 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 7.09% in October 2021, a 13.95% rise over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 12.37% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s consumer industry during October 2021 over previous month.
Fujitsu General posted 54 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a decline of 23.94% over the previous month, followed by Panasonic with 51 jobs and a 50% growth. Lotus Bakeries with 38 IT jobs and AB Electrolux with 36 jobs, recorded a 46.15% rise and a 38.46% rise, respectively, while LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton recorded a 3.45% increase with 30 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s consumer industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 15.92% share in October 2021, a 7.56% decrease over September 2021. France featured next with a 12.59% share, down 14.71% over the previous month. Germany recorded an 11.58% share, a drop of 20% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.07%, flat growth from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 13.89% share, registered a decline of 3.03% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.46% share, up 8.14% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.58%, recording a month-on-month growth of 33.33%.
