September 2021 has seen a decrease of 4.42% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.69% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering an increase of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 52.8% in September 2021, a 7.38% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 22.27% in September 2021, marking a 10% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 14.33% in September 2021, a 30.83% drop from August 2021.

Top five consumer companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 27.39% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s consumer industry during September 2021 over previous month.

Fujitsu General posted 70 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 18.64% over the previous month, followed by Reckitt Benckiser Group with 45 jobs and a 13.46% drop. Unibel with 30 IT jobs and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton with 29 jobs, recorded a 42.86% rise and a 123.08% rise, respectively, while AB Electrolux recorded an 116.67% increase with 26 job postings during September 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s consumer industry

The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 16.36% share in September 2021, a 23.36% decrease over August 2021. Germany featured next with a 15.42% share, down 32.19% over the previous month. France recorded a 15.26% share, a growth of 46.27% compared with August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.59%, down by 11.74% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 14.95% share, registered a decline of 4.95% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.37% share, down 12.05% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.09%, recording a month-on-month growth of 600%.
