Europe witnessed a 1.8% rise in IT hiring activity in the consumer industry in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
March 2022 has seen an increase of 7.9% in the overall hiring activity when compared with February 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.68% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in March 2022, registering a decrease of 0.25% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in March 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 59.92% in March 2022, a 13.68% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 15.06% in March 2022, marking a 26.04% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 13.79% in March 2022, a 2.26% drop from February 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 6.26% in March 2022, a 28.26% rise over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 22.5% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s consumer industry during March 2022 over previous month.
Nestle posted 153 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered an increase of 232.61% over the previous mont. Fujitsu General with 79 IT jobs and The Procter & Gamble with 41 jobs, recorded a 27.52% drop and a 46.43% rise, respectively, while AB Electrolux recorded a 42.86% increase with 40 job postings during March 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s consumer industry
Spain commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 15.16% share in March 2022, a 126.98% increase over February 2022. The UK featured next with a 14.63% share, down 23.33% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 13.36% share, a growth of 7.69% compared with February 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.46%, down by 3.53% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 16.97% share, registered a growth of 46.79% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.47% share, up 4.1% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.11%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
