Europe witnessed a 5.0% rise in IT hiring activity in the consumer industry in February 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
February 2022 has seen an increase of 6.7% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.8% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering an increase of 0.14% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 52.77% in February 2022, a 13.44% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 21.33% in February 2022, marking a 2.21% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 15.42% in February 2022, a 17.95% drop from January 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 5.54% in February 2022, a 2.22% rise over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 27.6% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s consumer industry during February 2022 over previous month.
Fujitsu General posted 109 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered an increase of 25.29% over the previous month, followed by Nestle with 46 jobs and a 58.62% growth. Lotus Bakeries with 32 IT jobs and Panasonic with 29 jobs, recorded a 46.67% drop and a 190% rise, respectively, while The Swatch Group recorded a 383.33% increase with 29 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s consumer industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 20.96% share in February 2022, a 17.92% decrease over January 2022. Germany featured next with a 13.61% share, down 34.3% over the previous month. France recorded a 9.88% share, a drop of 9.89% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.73%, down by 5.12% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 13.25% share, registered a decline of 17.91% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 12.77% share, down 28.86% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.24%, recording a month-on-month growth of 100%.
