Germany’s consumer industry IT recruitment activity drops 6.8%  in September 2021

Germany’s consumer industry registered a 6.8% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.19% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.72% share in September 2021, recording an increase of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.99% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s consumer industry in September 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.56% in September 2021, registering a 19.12% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 21.21% share, a decrease of 4.55% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 11.11%, registering a flat growth from August 2021.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 10.1%, down 61.54% over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 5.97% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s consumer industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

Fujitsu General posted 20 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 53.85% over the previous month, followed by Reckitt Benckiser Group with 19 jobs and a 24% drop. Grohe with 12 IT jobs and The Swatch Group with 6 jobs, recorded a 52% decline and a 200% flat growth, respectively, while HelloFresh recorded an increase of 200% with 6 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.75%, down by 32.73% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.21% share, registered a decline of 4.55% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 3.03% share, down 78.57% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.01%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
