India’s construction industry registered a 5.7% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.06% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 18.84% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 1% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.59% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s construction industry in August 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 63.17% in August 2022, registering a 2.19% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 19.27% share, an increase of 6.11% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 6.96%, registering a 22.47% decline from July 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.95%, up 1.72% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 8.55% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s construction industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Honeywell International posted 290 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 25.54% over the previous month, followed by Larsen & Toubro with 200 jobs and a 9.91% drop. Caterpillar with 51 IT jobs and NV Bekaert with 50 jobs, recorded a 75.86% growth and a 5.66% decrease, respectively, while Eaton Corporation recorded a decline of 12% with 44 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.23%, down by 4.08% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 35.62% share, registered an increase of 2.32% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.05% share, up 16.28% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.1%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
