India’s construction industry registered a 6.0% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.14% in September 2022 when compared with August 2022.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 19.3% share in September 2022, recording a decrease of 0.56% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.58% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s construction industry in September 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 56.71% in September 2022, registering a 35.08% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 19.41% share, a decrease of 16.43% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 12.65%, registering a 13.73% rise from August 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 6.22%, down 13.64% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 35.52% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s construction industry during September 2022 over August 2022.
Larsen & Toubro posted 226 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered a drop of 34.49% over the previous month, followed by Honeywell International with 141 jobs and a 51.38% drop. Eaton Corporation with 45 IT jobs and Caterpillar with 38 jobs, recorded a 2.27% growth and a 25.49% decrease, respectively, while KEC International recorded an increase of 93.75% with 31 job postings during September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.78%, down by 35.29% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 38.6% share, registered a decline of 14.7% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.07% share, up 5.71% over August 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.33%, recording a month-on-month increase of 200%.
