India’s construction industry registered a 7.3% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.57% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 22.95% share in October 2021, recording a decrease of 4.37% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.42% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s construction industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 73.92% in October 2021, registering a 19.58% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 9.34% share, an increase of 28.85% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 7.25%, registering a 10.64% rise from September 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 6.56%, up 38.24% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 19.68% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s construction industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Honeywell International posted 202 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a drop of 44.04% over the previous month, followed by General Electric with 80 jobs and a 30.43% drop. Jones Lang LaSalle with 69 IT jobs and Johnson Controls International with 49 jobs, recorded a 68.29% growth and a 32.43% growth, respectively, while ABB recorded a flat growth with 45 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.49%, down by 7.95% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 37.24% share, registered a decline of 14.97% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.14% share, down 18.52% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.14%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
