India’s construction industry registered a 6.7% rise in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 6.56% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 22.08% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 0.94% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.4% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s construction industry in March 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 73.4% in March 2022, registering a 9.44% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 9.02% share, a decrease of 37.8% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 8.45%, registering an 11.9% decline from February 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 5.48%, down 4% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 10.36% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s construction industry during March 2022 over February 2022.
Honeywell International posted 403 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 13.2% over the previous month, followed by NV Bekaert with 72 jobs and a 20% growth. General Electric with 50 IT jobs and Eaton Corporation with 45 jobs, recorded a 46.24% decline and a 15.38% growth, respectively, while Cummins recorded an increase of 1750% with 37 job postings during March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.4%, down by 19.9% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 39.84% share, registered an increase of 2.05% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.31% share, down 11.11% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.46%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
