India’s consumer industry registered a 2.6% drop in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 4.88% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.46% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 2.61% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.31% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry in September 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 52.54% in September 2021, registering an 11.43% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 13.56% share, a decrease of 15.79% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 12.71%, registering an 11.76% decline from August 2021.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 11.86%, down 39.13% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 5.71% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
Unilever posted 24 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a drop of 29.41% over the previous month, followed by Reckitt Benckiser Group with 22 jobs and a 10% growth. Diageo with 7 IT jobs and General Mills with 7 jobs, recorded a 75% flat growth and a 12.5% decrease, respectively, while Bunge recorded an increase of 50% with 6 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 57.63%, down by 1.45% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 33.05% share, registered a decline of 45.07% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.08% share, down 62.5% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 4.24%, recording a month-on-month increase of 25%.
