India’s consumer industry registered a 9.3% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 6.61% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.99% share in October 2021, recording a decrease of 4.01% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.68% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 48.68% in October 2021, registering a 6.33% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 17.11% share, an increase of 36.84% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 14.47%, registering a 10% rise from September 2021.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 12.5%, up 18.75% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 20.73% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Panasonic posted 64 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a rise of 52.38% over the previous month, followed by Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 12 jobs and a 33.33% growth. McCain Foods with 10 IT jobs and General Mills with 7 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Unilever recorded a decline of 75% with 6 job postings during October 2021.
Mid Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Mid Level jobs held a share of 48.68%, up by 7.25% from September 2021. Junior Level positions with a 40.13% share, registered a decline of 3.17% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.21% share, up 100% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.97%, recording a month-on-month decline of 40%.
