India’s consumer industry IT recruitment activity rises 18.4% in March 2022

India’s consumer industry registered an 18.4% rise in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 35.46% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.64% share in March 2022, recording a decrease of 0.68% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 102.47% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry in March 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.77% in March 2022, registering a 46.04% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15.66% share, an increase of 58.33% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 12.36%, registering a 136.84% rise from February 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 10.71%, down 2.5% over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 111.72% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s consumer industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

Nestle posted 96 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 269.23% over the previous month, followed by Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 67 jobs and a 191.3% growth. Panasonic with 48 IT jobs and L’Oreal with 35 jobs, recorded a 25% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Zebra recorded an increase of 66.67% with 25 job postings during March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.16%, up by 36.02% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 29.4% share, registered an increase of 37.18% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.89% share, up 80% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.55%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
