Mexico’s construction industry IT recruitment activity drops 2.4% in July 2022

Mexico’s construction industry registered a 2.4% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.87% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.91% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 0.72% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Mexico’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s construction industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 41.54% in July 2022, registering a 15.63% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 18.46% share, a decrease of 29.41% over the previous month.

3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 13.85%, registering a 10% decline from June 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 13.85%, up 125% over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 6.38% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s construction industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Honeywell International posted 11 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 52.17% over the previous month, followed by CDM Smith with 10 jobs and a 100% growth. Black & Veatch with 9 IT jobs and General Electric with 8 jobs, recorded a 350% growth and a 38.46% decrease, respectively, while Eaton Corporation recorded an increase of 50% with 6 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.92%, down by 13.95% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.69% share, registered an increase of 50% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.85% share, down 57.14% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.54%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
