Mexico’s construction industry IT recruitment activity drops 7.2% in August 2022

Mexico’s construction industry registered a 7.2% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 0.28% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.4% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.7% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Mexico’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s construction industry in August 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 34% in August 2022, registering a 37.04% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 28% share, an increase of 16.67% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 22%, registering a 10% rise from July 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 8%, down 55.56% over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 40% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s construction industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Honeywell International posted 6 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 45.45% over the previous month, followed by ABB with 6 jobs and a 100% growth. Cemex SAB de CV with 6 IT jobs and Eaton Corporation with 5 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 16.67% decrease, respectively, while Rockwell Automation recorded a flat growth with 5 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70%, down by 10.26% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 22% share, registered an increase of 22.22% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with an 8% share, down 77.78% over July 2022.
