Mexico’s consumer industry registered a 2.6% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.54% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.55% share in October 2021, recording a decrease of 0.17% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Mexico’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s consumer industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 46.3% in October 2021, registering a 7.41% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 25.93% share, an increase of 75% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 11.11%, registering a 200% rise from September 2021.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 11.11%, up 100% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 32.26% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s consumer industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Panasonic posted 15 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Fomento Economico Mexicano SAB de CV with 13 jobs and a 160% growth. PepsiCo with 7 IT jobs and British American Tobacco with 3 jobs, recorded a 40% growth and a 40% decrease, respectively, while Diageo recorded an increase of 200% with 3 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.37%, up by 22.58% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with an 18.52% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.11% share, up 20% over September 2021.
