February 2022 has seen an increase of 5.84% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 5.87% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering a decrease of 0.29% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 46.81% in February 2022, a 37.14% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 19.15% in February 2022, marking an 18.18% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 17.02% in February 2022, a 14.29% rise from January 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average flat growth in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s construction industry during February 2022 over previous month.

Honeywell International posted 7 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered a decline of 30% over the previous month, followed by AECOM with 4 jobs and a 300% growth. Epiroc with 4 IT jobs and NANA RegionalInc with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 57.14% drop, respectively, while Ecolab recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during February 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s construction industry

South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 25.53% share in February 2022, a 71.43% increase over January 2022. United Arab Emirates featured next with a 19.15% share, up 12.5% over the previous month. Saudi Arabia recorded a 12.77% share, a drop of 40% compared with January 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.83%, down by 16.67% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.66% share, registered a decline of 27.78% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 8.51% share, down 60% over January 2022.
