IT jobs accounted for a 6.13% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 0.44% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 47.92% in October 2021, a 14.81% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 16.67% in October 2021, marking a 55.56% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 14.58% in October 2021, a flat growth from September 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 5.88% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s construction industry during October 2021 over previous month.

General Electric posted 6 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 100% over the previous month, followed by Caterpillar with 4 jobs and a 300% growth. WSP Global with 2 IT jobs and OC Oerlikon Corporation with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while KBR recorded an 84.62% decline with 2 job postings during October 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s construction industry

United Arab Emirates commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 20.83% share in October 2021, a 23.08% decrease over September 2021. Israel featured next with a 14.58% share, up 133.33% over the previous month. Saudi Arabia recorded a 12.5% share, a drop of 14.29% compared with September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.83%, down by 8.11% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 22.92% share, registered a decline of 35.29% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.25% share, down 25% over September 2021.
