IT jobs accounted for a 5.01% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2021, registering an increase of 0.43% over the last three-month average share.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 42.86% in September 2021, a 200% rise over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 35.71% in September 2021, marking a 42.86% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 10.71% in September 2021, a 50% drop from August 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 250% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s construction industry during September 2021 over previous month.

KBR posted 13 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered an increase of 333.33% over the previous month, followed by Khatib & Alami with 3 jobs and a flat growth. Jones Lang LaSalle with 2 IT jobs and AECOM with 2 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 100% rise, respectively, while Ashtrom Group recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during September 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s construction industry

Kenya commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 42.86% share in September 2021, a flat growth over August 2021. Saudi Arabia featured next with a 14.29% share, down 42.86% over the previous month. Egypt recorded a 10.71% share, a growth of 200% compared with August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 75%, up by 40% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.43% share, registered a decline of 25% compared with the previous month.
