July 2022 has seen a decrease of 2.75% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.06% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering an increase of 0.36% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 37.93% in July 2022, a 15.79% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 27.59% in July 2022, marking a 48.39% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 18.97% in July 2022, a flat growth from June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 116.67% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s construction industry during July 2022 over previous month.

Cummins posted 8 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 700% over the previous month, followed by Honeywell International with 8 jobs and a flat growth. Epiroc with 4 IT jobs and Khatib & Alami Holding with 3 jobs, recorded a 300% rise and a 200% rise, respectively, while SNC-Lavalin Group recorded a 200% increase with 3 job postings during July 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s construction industry

Israel commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 17.24% share in July 2022, a 42.86% increase over June 2022. United Arab Emirates featured next with a 13.79% share, down 46.67% over the previous month. Egypt recorded a 12.07% share, a growth of 75% compared with June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.24%, down by 13.33% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with an 18.97% share, registered a decline of 50% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.79% share, flat growth over June 2022.
