Middle East & Africa witnessed a 27.5% rise in IT hiring activity in the consumer industry in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
October 2021 has seen an increase of 3.93% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.32% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 1.11% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 58.62% in October 2021, an 88.89% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 27.59% in October 2021, marking a 27.27% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 10.34% in October 2021, a flat growth from September 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 3.45% in October 2021, a flat growth over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in Middle East & Africa’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 75% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s consumer industry during October 2021 over previous month.
Nestle posted 8 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a decline of 11.11% over the previous month, followed by The Procter & Gamble with 5 jobs and a 400% growth. Unilever with 3 IT jobs and British American Tobacco with 3 jobs, recorded a 50% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Distell Group recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s consumer industry
South Africa commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 20.69% share in October 2021, a 20% increase over September 2021. Seychelles featured next with a 17.24% share, down 28.57% over the previous month. Egypt recorded a 17.24% share, a growth of 25% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 44.83%, down by 40.91% from September 2021. Entry Level positions with a 31.03% share, registered a growth of 125% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 24.14% share, flat growth over September 2021.
