March 2022 has seen an increase of 2.9% in the overall hiring activity when compared with February 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 5.07% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in March 2022, registering a decrease of 0.76% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in March 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 49.61% in March 2022, a 1.28% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 14.42% in March 2022, marking a 10% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 14.3% in March 2022, a 100% rise from February 2022.

Top five construction companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 25.16% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s construction industry during March 2022 over previous month.

Honeywell International posted 452 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered an increase of 126% over the previous month, followed by Black & Veatch with 311 jobs and a 31.65% drop. CDM Smith with 289 IT jobs and Komatsu with 231 jobs, recorded a 3111.11% rise and a 34.93% drop, respectively, while CBRE Group recorded an 18.18% increase with 130 job postings during March 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s construction industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 90.27% share in March 2022, an 8.97% increase over February 2022. Canada featured next with a 7.31% share, down 19.44% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 2.41% share, a growth of 15.56% compared with February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.13%, down by 2.22% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 27.83% share, registered a growth of 27.28% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.51% share, up 20.42% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.53%, recording a month-on-month decline of 43.1%.
