Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 42.5% in August 2022, a 12.54% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 24.48% in August 2022, marking a 24.75% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 11.73% in August 2022, a 14.56% rise from July 2022.

Top five construction companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 45.45% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s construction industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Komatsu posted 238 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 46.01% over the previous month, followed by Honeywell International with 190 jobs and a 5% drop. AECOM with 150 IT jobs and Deere with 98 jobs, recorded a 2900% rise and a 22.5% rise, respectively, while Cummins recorded a 15% increase with 92 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s construction industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with an 87.51% share in August 2022, a 22.23% decrease over July 2022. Canada featured next with a 10.73% share, up 2.86% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.66% share, a drop of 25.37% compared with July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.78%, down by 6.66% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 24.45% share, registered a decline of 45.25% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.54% share, up 6.55% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.23%, recording a month-on-month decline of 86.79%.
