February 2022 has seen an increase of 2.06% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 5.79% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering an increase of 0.43% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 52.07% in February 2022, a 14.51% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 17.29% in February 2022, marking an 8.02% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.92% in February 2022, a 50.63% drop from January 2022.

Top five construction companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in February 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 1.62% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s construction industry during February 2022 over previous month.

Black & Veatch posted 431 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered an increase of 5.38% over the previous month, followed by Komatsu with 347 jobs and a 9.4% drop. Honeywell International with 196 IT jobs and Installed Building Products with 152 jobs, recorded a 12.89% drop and a 56.7% rise, respectively, while Cummins recorded a 6.5% increase with 131 job postings during February 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s construction industry

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with an 87.61% share in February 2022, a 28.1% decrease over January 2022. Canada featured next with a 10.6% share, up 11.26% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.79% share, a drop of 22.22% compared with January 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.75%, down by 13.59% from January 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.91% share, registered a decline of 47.36% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.38% share, down 14.38% over January 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.96%, recording a month-on-month decline of 30.12%.
