Computer Support Specialists Occupations leads by classification in May 2022
Computer Support Specialists Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 34.48% in May 2022, a 100% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 31.03% in May 2022, marking a 12.5% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 24.14% in May 2022, a 40% rise from April 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 63.64% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s construction industry during May 2022 over previous month.
3M posted 5 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a decline of 16.67% over the previous month, followed by Sandvik with 5 jobs and a 150% growth. Eaton Corporation with 4 IT jobs and Atlas Copco with 2 jobs, recorded a 100% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while ABB recorded a 100% increase with 2 job postings during May 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s construction industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 24.14% share in May 2022, a 12.5% decrease over April 2022. Chile featured next with a 20.69% share, up 50% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 17.24% share, a drop of 16.67% compared with April 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.97%, down by 4.76% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 27.59% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 3.45% share, down 66.67% over April 2022.
