October 2021 has seen a decrease of 0.98% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 2.87% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 0.05% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 57.45% in October 2021, a 12.5% rise over the previous month. Computer Support Specialists came in next, claiming a share of 14.89% in October 2021, marking a 40% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 10.64% in October 2021, a 66.67% rise from September 2021.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects registered a share of 8.51% in October 2021, a flat growth over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 210% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s construction industry during October 2021 over previous month.

3M posted 14 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 133.33% over the previous month, followed by ABB with 6 jobs and a flat growth. MRV Engenharia e Participacoes with 5 IT jobs and Eaton Corporation with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 25% drop, respectively, while Cyrela Brazil RealtyEmpreendimentos e Participacoes recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during October 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s construction industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 38.3% share in October 2021, a 10% decrease over September 2021. Costa Rica featured next with a 29.79% share, up 133.33% over the previous month. Colombia recorded an 8.51% share, a growth of 100% compared with September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.83%, up by 66.67% from September 2021. Entry Level positions with a 25.53% share, registered a growth of 50% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 10.64% share, down 54.55% over September 2021.
