Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 42.86% in October 2021, a 3.85% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 31.75% in October 2021, marking an 81.82% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 9.52% in October 2021, a 25% drop from September 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 32.26% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s consumer industry during October 2021 over previous month.
BRF posted 18 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered an increase of 12.5% over the previous month, followed by JBS with 7 jobs and a 250% growth. The Procter & Gamble with 7 IT jobs and Nestle with 5 jobs, recorded a 22.22% drop and a 66.67% rise, respectively, while Alpargatas recorded a 300% increase with 4 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s consumer industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 63.49% share in October 2021, a 14.29% increase over September 2021. Costa Rica featured next with a 12.7% share, flat growth over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 4.76% share, a flat growth compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.6%, up by 30.56% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 12.7% share, registered a growth of 60% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.7% share, down 46.67% over September 2021.
