March 2022 has seen an increase of 0.23% in the overall hiring activity when compared with February 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 2.41% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in March 2022, registering a decrease of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in March 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 53.16% in March 2022, a 44.83% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 15.19% in March 2022, marking a 200% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 12.66% in March 2022, a 42.86% rise from February 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 54.29% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s consumer industry during March 2022 over previous month.

BRF posted 22 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered an increase of 10% over the previous month, followed by The Procter & Gamble with 17 jobs and a 30.77% growth. Kimberly-Clark with 6 IT jobs, recorded a 500% rise, while PZ Cussons recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during March 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s consumer industry

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s consumer industry IT hiring activity with a 53.16% share in March 2022, a 40% increase over February 2022. Costa Rica featured next with a 20.25% share, up 166.67% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 6.33% share, a drop of 44.44% compared with February 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 77.22%, up by 52.5% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with an 11.39% share, registered a growth of 125% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with an 11.39% share, down 25% over February 2022.
