The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.7% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.57% share in August 2022, recording a flat growth over the last three-month average share.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 26.51% share, a decrease of 5.93% over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 14.38% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s construction industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

Arup Group posted 50 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 316.67% over the previous month, followed by Kier Group with 45 jobs and a 26.23% drop. Mott MacDonald Group with 33 IT jobs and The British Land Co with 31 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 16.22% decrease, respectively, while Babcock International Group recorded an increase of 41.18% with 24 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.52%, down by 15.05% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 19.83% share, registered a decline of 14.41% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 7.93% share, down 20.83% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.71%, recording a month-on-month increase of 85.71%.
