The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 6.74% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.98% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 0.24% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 45.73% in September 2021, registering a 4.6% flat growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 18.59% share, a decrease of 13.95% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 15.08%, registering a 6.25% decline from August 2021.

Top five construction companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 50.79% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s construction industry during September 2021 over August 2021.

SNC-Lavalin Group posted 28 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a rise of 86.67% over the previous month, followed by Babcock International Group with 23 jobs and a 91.67% growth. Arup Group with 18 IT jobs and Costain Group with 17 jobs, recorded a 20% flat growth and a 30.77% flat growth, respectively, while Newmark Group recorded an increase of 12.5% with 9 job postings during September 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.36%, down by 4.05% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 13.57% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.06% share, up 29.41% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 4.02%, recording a month-on-month increase of 33.33%.
