The UK’s consumer industry registered an 8.0% drop in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 0.67% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.11% share in October 2021, recording a decrease of 0.33% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s consumer industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 48.18% in October 2021, registering a 6% flat growth over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.36% share, a decrease of 33.33% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 15.45%, registering an 112.5% rise from September 2021.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 15.45%, down 32% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 24.44% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s consumer industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Fujitsu General posted 24 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a rise of 14.29% over the previous month, followed by Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 16 jobs and a 60% growth. Games Workshop Group with 6 IT jobs and Unilever with 5 jobs, recorded a 200% flat growth and a 16.67% decrease, respectively, while The Procter & Gamble recorded a decline of 16.67% with 5 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.91%, down by 22.09% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 20% share, registered an increase of 69.23% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.27% share, down 5% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.82%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
