
The US’s construction industry registered an 11.6% drop in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 2.95% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.97% share in March 2022, recording a decrease of 0.8% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s construction industry in March 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 47.88% in March 2022, registering a 4.55% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Analysts claimed a 15.07% share, an increase of 111.55% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 14.99%, registering a 10.99% decline from February 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 12.99%, up 3.48% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 42.66% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s construction industry during March 2022 over February 2022.
Honeywell International posted 404 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 130.86% over the previous month, followed by Black & Veatch with 305 jobs and a 31.61% drop. CDM Smith with 284 IT jobs and CBRE Group with 130 jobs, recorded a 3055.56% growth and an 18.18% growth, respectively, while Cummins recorded a decline of 11.2% with 111 job postings during March 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.85%, down by 0.14% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.67% share, registered an increase of 31.18% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.89% share, up 22.93% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.59%, recording a month-on-month decline of 44.64%.
