The US’s construction industry registered a 1.3% rise in IT hiring activity in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 6.7% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.31% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 0.09% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.38% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s construction industry in September 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 49.34% in September 2021, registering a 6.61% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15.1% share, an increase of 2.11% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 14.41%, registering a 21.16% decline from August 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 12.79%, up 72.27% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 9.77% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s construction industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
Black & Veatch posted 311 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a drop of 0.64% over the previous month, followed by CBRE Group with 128 jobs and a 12.28% growth. Owens Corning with 113 IT jobs and KBR with 61 jobs, recorded a 564.71% flat growth and a 6.15% decrease, respectively, while NANA RegionalInc recorded a decline of 41.9% with 61 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.9%, down by 8.52% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 31.19% share, registered an increase of 42.86% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.23% share, down 33.78% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 3.68%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
