The industry’s overall hiring increased by 3.11% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.73% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 46.06% in October 2021, registering a 15.06% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 24.27% share, an increase of 96.76% over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 9.47% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s construction industry during October 2021 over September 2021.

Black & Veatch posted 590 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a rise of 89.71% over the previous month, followed by Johnson Controls International with 194 jobs and a 1.52% drop. Komatsu with 152 IT jobs and Honeywell International with 151 jobs, recorded a 3.8% decline and a 43.87% decrease, respectively, while General Electric recorded a decline of 27.01% with 127 job postings during October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 52.37%, down by 0.6% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.73% share, registered a decline of 15.76% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Senior job ads with 11.79% share, up 566.13% over September 2021, while Entry Level postings accounted for 11.11%, recording a month-on-month decline of 15.07%.
