US consumer industry IT recruitment activity rises 14.4% in March 2022

The US’s consumer industry registered a 14.4% rise in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 3.52% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.14% share in March 2022, recording an increase of 0.33% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in the US’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.82% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s consumer industry in March 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 55.73% in March 2022, registering a 30.87% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 14.64% share, an increase of 62.03% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 14.45%, registering a 17.25% rise from February 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 9.38%, up 15.48% over the previous month.

Top five consumer companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 106.1% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s consumer industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

Nestle posted 315 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a rise of 270.59% over the previous month, followed by The J. R. Simplot with 232 jobs and a 6.91% growth. Rich Products with 184 IT jobs and Carrier Global with 97 jobs, recorded a flat growth and an 18.29% flat growth, respectively, while Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. recorded an increase of 19.05% with 50 job postings during March 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.32%, up by 38.21% from February 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.38% share, registered an increase of 17.22% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 16.72% share, up 29.1% over February 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.58%, recording a month-on-month decline of 7.69%.
