The US’s consumer industry registered a 2.2% rise in IT hiring activity in October 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 1.62% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the consumer industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 2.3% share in October 2021, recording a decrease of 0.03% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s consumer industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.9% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s consumer industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 51.55% in October 2021, registering a 2.65% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 14.91% share, an increase of 8.76% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.51%, registering a 10.69% rise from September 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 11.91%, up 36.78% over the previous month.
Top five consumer companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 28.48% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s consumer industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Peloton Interactive posted 51 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a rise of 155% over the previous month, followed by Carrier Global with 50 jobs and a 33.33% drop. Unternehmensgruppe Theo Muller S.e.c.s. with 43 IT jobs and Herman Miller with 36 jobs, recorded a 79.17% flat growth and a 157.14% flat growth, respectively, while JBS recorded a flat growth with 32 job postings during October 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 59.96%, up by 12.59% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 24.82% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.81% share, down 16.36% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.4%, recording a month-on-month increase of 27.27%.
