Construction commences on $70m Contemplative Commons Building in the US

Construction work on the $70m Contemplative Commons Building located in Charlottesville, Virginia, the US commenced in Q4 2021. It was announced in Q3 2019.

The project involves the construction of a 5,295m2 building in Charlottesville, Virginia, the US.

The project includes the following:

1. Construction of an academic classroom
2. Construction of research laboratory
3. Construction of immersive learning space
4. Construction of event space
5. Construction of an innovation hub
6. Construction of parking facilities
7. Installation of safety and security systems

Construction on the project is expected to be completed by Q4 2023.

Owners of the project include the US-based University of Virginia.

US-based Aidlin Darling Design is the architect and engineering design consultant for the Contemplative Commons Building, while City of Charlottesville is the planning authority.
